PROJECT MANAGER
A project manager is an on site job supervisor with communication skills necessary to delegate responsibilities to those employees and sub contractors needed to complete any project. Lead carpentry experience is a must.

• Ability to supervise G&M Contracting employees and sub contractors on a daily basis.
• Capabilities to build following a set of drawings is a must.
• Capabilities to complete any form of carpentry as well as instructing and supervising others on the correct techniques and craftsmanship.
• Ability to construct a weekly list of needed materials and with the knowledge to most efficiently use those materials. Keeping track of un used materials and returning that material.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with the production manager, sub contractors an architect and “manage” the client on a daily basis. Then relay any important information to the production manager.
• Communicate with the production manager on scheduling and over seeing of county inspections.
• Keep informed as to the project on a whole including plans, change orders and product specifications and installation procedures.
• Maintain a two week schedule of job site events; ie. daily work , sub contractors work status and materials needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe working/ living environment for both G&M Contracting employees, sub contractors and clients.
• A firm understanding and knowledge of all tools and the ability to teach proper techniques through demonstration.
• Maintain and log company owned tools as it pertains to your job and track their where-abouts between other locations.
  

LEAD/SENIOR CARPENTER
This position at G&M Contracting will consist of one working under the direction of the project manager. An extensive knowledge in many different categories of carpentry is necessary from framing to finish.

• The capability to build following a set of drawings is a must.
• A firm understanding of the framing process from foundation to roof.
• Experienced with the installation of windows, doors (both pre-hung and free hanging blank units) and cabinetry.
• A firm understanding of the process involved in completing interior trim (crown moulding , multiple piece base boards and casing.) with the skills to create furniture quality cabinetry.
• A firm understanding of the process involved with completing exterior trim (decking, all types of siding, rake, soffit and gutterboards.)
• A detailed oriented craftsman with the capabilities to foresee problems and correctly complete the project without supervision.
• A safety conscious individual with the ability to point out and correct un safe building procedures for other co workers as well as ones self.
• Each individual must provide their own transportation to and from the job.
